ah ferris,what a factual and poetic quote.

yesterday,i had a ferris Bueller kinda day.

due to tropical storm Lee,the mechlings annual pilgrimage to Atlanta Motor Speedway was brought to a tragic end thanks to a rained out race. :( goodness,Irene ruined the Giants schedule last week,Lee messed us up this week,what does mother nature have against muwah’s sport boyz. :P

when nascar rescheduled the race to tuesday afternoon,i was pretty crushed.dad had to work,i had a DT to do,and sisters had school to resume.it seemed that once again,a race at AMS would go on without us.but thanks in part to my DT being moved,i just might be able to attend after all! :) 

i snagged 2 sisters,3 tickets,some snacks and burb,woke up super early the next morning and headed for hampton!……….unlike ferris,our parents knew we were doing all of this.  

greetings AMS,note the lack of people.i love rain delayed races.  

arent these seats just plain aw-sum.like ferris,we kinda sorta impersonated the real owner of these seats. ssshhhhh,dont tell AMS. :P i love impersonating though….

just like ferris,we totally got noticed at a sporting event.(were the ones highlighted by the yellow box)they snapped this photo while i was snapping a photo.cewl beans. :P

if you squint really hard,youll see jmac by his car! =D oh how i wish i had a super,duper long lens.  

hey kase!!!!!uh,lucky PR girl.can you imagine if your JOB was to plan kasey kahne’s weekend AND tag along with him?!?!suh-weet!

i think im GQ’s good luck charm.last race i went to,he won by thatmuch.yesterday?!he finished 2nd!!!!!i think i should attend more races.omGQ,they should reserve a spot for the ‘rabbit foot’ in the pit box.im so there. :P 

and jmac finished 16th!not fabulous but,after the rough year he’s had,16th is shweet to me. :)

poor lil’ kase’s day started terrific(started P1!!oh yeah)and ended terrible.stupid raditor. :{ 

and so,cameron,sloane and i made the snail paced trudge back to the car and headed for…………..  

the massive line of traffic.for the small amount of people that showed up,that was a ton of traffic.

keeping with the ferris bueller theme,note who their fans of…….(go bears!)  

AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it’s mr.rooney(or the devil/carl edwards) why must he ruin everything. 

and thus concludes another exciting chapter in the ‘Mechling Nascar Novel’……….and our day off.back to the typical,mundane life.
