Macster&Me

"Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbELIevable."- Tom Landry

The South may be my geographical location, but the sideline of a football field or a bench at a racetrack grand stand is where I feel most at home. I'm a Christian. I'm a sports nut. I love to travel. I yearn for a Dealer Trade adventure. I love cities. I hope to call New York City my home someday. I have a thing for Quarter Backs from New York(Giants), Dallas, and Chicago. I have a mild, almost unhealthy, love and admiration for The Brothers Manning I love to vent, in the form of writing. As I fill these posts with sports facts, opinions, and reactions; I hope you're entertained and find them enjoyable. I do occasionally write about non-sport things that occur in my life.

Happy reading!

i tried.i really tried not to immerse myself into this.i kept telling myself, “rise above taylor.dont reduce to their level or make a fool of oneself.” but while i stood there, channeling my anger into vacuuming(it actually does help),i gave in.i must give my opinion.

with fingers clenched, glaring into the gorgeous background on magnificent macster’s screen,i shall do my utter best to not rant or morph into hated towards a certain group of people.

    let’s begin.

to those that are still in complete darkness about this particular event that went down tuesday evening,i shall shed a light of knowledge.

tuesday evening, the incredible mr.E(or eli)was giving a wonderful interview to a local NY radio station.during this interview, the incredible mr.E was asked a question of whether or not he considers himself an elite QB.somehow berries and cream(aka, tom brady)was thrown into this question as well.being slightly backed into a corner, eli replied with what he thought was an honest and correct answer of yes.he then went on to highlight how brady, with every passing season, has gradually matured into the Holy QB he’s become.eli used this example to explain his “outlandish answer” (as the stupid media claims it)as what he hopes and feels he’s done since beginning his career 7 season ago.so now,2 days later, basically every major sports reporter is praising Eli for showing some confidence in his ability, but quickly squashes him with reasons for him to be mediocre.

    **insert my opinion**

when i first read about this interview,i was pretty…….surprised.for years eli’s been very humble, almost too humble, when being praised on his remarkable success during his career thus far.while it’s very wonderful and refreshing to see a guy be so quiet about his successes,a small part of me was begging for him to stand up and say; “yes,im proud of what ive accomplished and hope to continue.” to read that he FINALLY showed a little bit of confidence in himself.i couldnt think of anything else to do but cheer and say “YES!go eli!” im lovin this hint of swagger he’s acquired.

but of course, the evil media hounds have a very different opinion.their side of the story?!eli’s being “outlandish, his ego is WAY to big and how dare he claim to be amongst the rankings of Holy brady.” to them i say,WHAT?!?!what’s wrong with a QB having some pride in his line of work?!if he had answered with “no,im nowhere near as good.im not elite at all;” theyd be killing him for having ZIP confidence and questioning his role as the team leader!

eli’s response to this fire storm of ridiculousness?!  ““It was kind of like, what am I supposed to say? ‘No, I don’t think so? Each year I’m preparing to be the best quarterback that I can be.  I’m trying to win games for the Giants and that’s really what my focus is.  I’m not trying to compete against other quarterbacks, I’m not trying to be better than this quarterback.  I’m trying to be the best quarterback I can be.  I’m trying to win a championship for the Giants and go out there and win each game that we play.  That’s what my focus is, that’s what my goal is each year.  I root for other quarterbacks.  I think we have a great fraternity.  If you’re a quarterback in the NFL, there’s not many of you and so I root for each quarterback to do well, stay healthy, and I enjoy watching a lot of these quarterbacks play the game and look at some of the throws they make, some of their mechanics.  It’s fun for me, I have a blast playing this sport and this position, and so I look forward to this year, getting better and making improvements, and making sure I’m a better quarterback this year than I was in the past.”

i couldnt have put it better myself.bravo, bravo eli!!!!shut those haters and doubters up.again, while vacuuming this afternoon(i vent in the oddest ways),i also had the old ipod on and earbuds hooked up.as i was shoving and moving things and thrusting the poor vac around,a song came on.a song that just cleared everything and combined this day’s events into a few simple lyrics.

Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
    Like a skyscraper

i cant help but compare this to a similar situation that occurred during the preseason weeks of the 2007 season.i dont think i have to tell you what the end result was for that season. ;) so go ahead haters, media;just try to bring eli down,he WILL make you eat your words.

what a day.im done with this stupid “story.” let’s move on to more important things to chat and debate about.like………who’s gunna win monday night!!!!!GO GIANTS!!!…..and the incredible mr.E!
