Macster&Me

"Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbELIevable."- Tom Landry

The South may be my geographical location, but the sideline of a football field or a bench at a racetrack grand stand is where I feel most at home. I'm a Christian. I'm a sports nut. I love to travel. I yearn for a Dealer Trade adventure. I love cities. I hope to call New York City my home someday. I have a thing for Quarter Backs from New York(Giants), Dallas, and Chicago. I have a mild, almost unhealthy, love and admiration for The Brothers Manning I love to vent, in the form of writing. As I fill these posts with sports facts, opinions, and reactions; I hope you're entertained and find them enjoyable. I do occasionally write about non-sport things that occur in my life.

Happy reading!

yesterday was the marking of a new mechling 4th tradition, attending the running of the Peachtree Road Race.if you recall from my previous post, morgan’s 10K training was put to the test.yesterday, morgan ran her 1st Peachtree Road Race!

us mechling’s are such newbie’s to this thing.weve lived in GA for 26 years and prior to yesterday,we’d never attended a race.yeah, were Peachtree snobs. :P we searched and researched everything.from arrival to traffic flows,we covered it all.

best way to travel into ATL,on raceday?!

the marta train.it’s not as well known as the subways of NYC or the L in Chicago but,it gets you from point A to point B.

    tickets were purchased….

    passes dispersed….

    and we……

we’re on!totally had a NYC moment.whizzing towards the city while the sun rose above the skyscrapers.so cewl. :)

proof that i,taylor, was actually on a “subway.” note that im not clutching anything for balance support.im a slight germ/disease phobe. :P

our NYC moment was short lived.

for just as quickly as we boarded,we filed out of the train, the station and were soon proceeding to morgan’s drop off spot.

when we had walked over hill’s and dale’s hills,it was time to wish morgan one final “good luck” and……..

    await our train.the platform was a 180 from a few mins before.totally and completely empty.it was….pretty cewl.

    train #2.check the numbers.10 and 4. :) im a number nerd. :P

    2 stops later,we arrived………..

at trump tower?!how did we mess that one up.hey,at least it was a good mess up. :)

alas, were still in ATL.while hiking to out final destination….i had another NYC moment.

    sun shinning through shaded sidewalks.

    buildings jutting overhead.

    it.was.awesome. :D

i was famished.waking up and the crack of dawn and the miles and miles of hiking  really drained me.time to refuel with……

    some perfect oatmeal. :)

    an hour later,we hiked,sweated,hiked,sweated,blistered and sweated until,at last………

    we found morgan!

all her training(and my spotting)paid off!

she completed 6.2 miles in a little over an hour.

    she’s a running beast.

    we congratulated.

    we shuffled.

    we bumped.

    we weakly slumbered into burb.

    we were homeward bound.
