if youve seen it,then youll remember how Julie Powell…….  

and her husband moved to an apartment above a pizza place in queens,NY.i dont know about you but,that sounds pretty divine to me. :) while coping with her dead end desk job,900 square ft. apartment,and super successful friends;julie decides to cook through julia childs’…..

“mastering the art of french cooking” cookbook all while blogging about it.it’s a wonderful little movie.definitely one of my favorites and one of the many reasons i started blogging.but why,you might ask,am i sharing this movie with you?! 

well,about 3 or 4 weeks ago,a similar crazy idea occurred with me.i was having my ‘monthly utter bliss read’……..  

(yup,im a southern living nut.i would DIE to work for them one day.)and as you can see,this issue is the Thanksgiving issue.while ooing and aahhing a thought suddenly struck me…….  

instead of just reading and dreaming,why dont i actually DO something.and by do something i mean MAKE a Thanksgiving meal!  

shortly after this thought stuck me,i quickly dashed it away.me?!cooking?!?!if you know me,then you know im not much of a cook,baker,or food person in general.sure i can make a few things here and there,but a massive,super traditional meal?!uuuhhhhhhh…..no.

but the more i thought,the more this crazy,way out of character idea began to become a desire and want to achieve.so after sitting on this idea some more and asking for permission,it became official.im making 2011’s Thanksgiving dinner!

soooooooo,aside from cheering the Gmen on every sunday,what have i been doing to keep myself super busy?!well……………  

reading food blogs…..  

and martha’s recipe archives……….  

and watching CSI Miami……..  

and a few bazillion more food blogs.and……….

it’s amazing how many food blogs are out there.how did we exist before these things were created?!idk what id do without them.im pretty sure at least half of my menu is based on food blog recipes.with these ideas and recipes stored in macster,i wasnt looking forward to having him stand in harm’s way while i run around like a turkey with his head cut off(no pun intended) during Thanksgiving week.sooo i…….  

unearthed a binder……  

printed recipes and corralled my dog-eared magazines……….  

and rough drafted.  

TA-DA!accidental spills on macster:avoided!a very organized,taylor approved Thanksgiving preparation book. :) 

bring on Thanksgiving cooking/baking week.im so ready…….and ecstatic!
